21 weeks...

How far along?  21 weeks and 2 days! Baby is about 10.5 inches long from head to feet, and about the size of a carrot! :)
Total weight gain/measurements: only 8lbs as of this morning!
Maternity clothes: Still haven't bought a thing! Loving these belly bands though, they're helping me to be able to wear my same clothes! :)
Stretch marks: None as of yet! :)
Sleep: It's been good! I've finally figured out how to sleep through the night, but I have to face the opposite direction of my husband... I hate doing that, BUT at least I don't wake up (unless Penny decides to start snoring all loud)
Best moment this week: Definitely feeling her move a lot more! :)
Miss anything? Sleeping on my back, and not having to run to the bathroom every hour. It's no joke when they say pregnant women go to the bathroom all the time!
Movement: Definitely a lot going on! Since my placenta is still up front (and absorbs her kicks and punches) I feel a lot of fluttering, and some kicks randomly but it's been amazing!
Food cravings: Coldstone... currently. Last week I smelled bacon at work (and those who know me, know I only really like turkey bacon.) so we HAD to go to Corner Bakery this weekend and get breakfast, cause I wanted bacon! Thankfully that's not a normal thing for me!
Anything making you queasy or sick? Not recently! YEAH!
Gender:  a little girl! :)
Labor signs: none
Symptoms: nothing right now. just loving looking pregnant, and being pregnant! :) Definitely a dream come true.
Belly button in or out? Still in! The weird part is the inside part is pushing out some, as if it WILL pop in coming weeks.. let's hope not!
Wedding rings on or off? ON, and LOVING IT! :)
Happy or moody most of the time: Super happy! Been really busy lately, so just trying to take it down a notch and not stress out.
Looking forward to: On top of the other things from last week (listed below) I can't wait for our next appt. on March 29th (Good Friday) to see her on another sonogram! Then feeling more baby movements, picking out a name for the baby, and picking out room colors! :)

From the breakfast date Carlos & I went to on Saturday to Corner Bakery!!!
Was so good!! His meal was the top one, and I ate the Commuters Croissant.. YUM! :)

(Left: 21 weeks, Right: 21 weeks & 2 days)
I feel like the look of my belly changes so much,
and rounds out one day and isn't as round the next day!

Bragging on my man...

I just couldn't control myself but to brag about how amazing my husband is...

So he's in a group called Christcentric and my husband is an incredible rapper! He writes his own lyrics, creates amazing punchlines, multi-syllable rhymes, produces his own beats, and records, etc. I could go on & on about him with his skill to hear one little sample and make a WHOLE beat off of that! Blows my mind away how creative that he is!

So I've realized how incredible he is with managing things and getting everything done that he must do. These past few weeks have been so busy for him as he's been working late nights, after just transitioning to a new position at work, so he's been doing hours of training at night at home as well. He teaches a bible study on Wednesday night with the high school guys, and then teaches our small group on Sundays. He's also been writing a lot of music lately, and producing more music for Christcentric's current album they're working on. I don't know where he finds the time to do everything that he's signed up for.

On top of all of that, he squeezes in time with me, to listen to me, to help me out, to be at my midwife appts as we go get to see our daughter. He's just been so incredible, and I don't feel I've given him enough credit for how amazing he really is! I just wanted to thank you my sweet husband on how amazing that you really are! I love you so much! :)

Ephesians 5:23  "For the husband is the head of the wife even as Christ is the head of the church, his body, and is himself its Savior." Thanks you for making this your daily practice and leading me as the scriptures teach the man to do!

Fluttering

So last week I had felt my daughter give me a good solid punch or kick, and it was so amazing!!! (sounds crazy to say it felt amazing, but she's growing stronger.. so the "amazing" feeling won't last forever!) Since then I've been trying to get her movement as often as possible.... but nothing! It's tough when you want to feel your child move so badly, but you're not feeling much of anything. Then the worry sets in....

I've been letting her hear Carlos's music on the way home from work, since we know she can really hear us now. I want her to hear the music and love it, as well as hear her daddys voice, even when he isn't present in person. Since my husband produces music (makes beats) we've always dreamed about tossing a pair of headphones on my pregnant belly and get our child listening to some good music! Last night we finally did it, now that my belly is finally really sticking out! I was feeling more flutters then, and it was so comforting. It's awesome to let her hear her daddys music, so she can learn some good hip hop!

It's been so sweet seeing how Carlos loves to rub her daily and now he's been talking to my belly to let her hear his voice too. It's super cute and makes me love him even more. I can probably continue on forever about how amazing of a father he will be, but I won't do that, today. I just love seeing how much he already loves our little girl. (Definitely a happy mama here!)

I finally began to sing to her yesterday too, for the first time.. really sing to my daughter. Getting to sing a lullaby that my mom used to sing to me "Sunshine, you are my sunshine..." Thankfully I know she's doing okay today too as today I've felt flutters all around my tummy! :) It's quite amazing to feel a human life inside of you fluttering away, as she's getting stronger and bigger, I get to feel her occasional kicks! What a crazy experience it is to be growing a human life, that only God can design so perfectly! Praise GOD for my daughter!

19+ weeks & sex reveal!!!

How far along?  19 weeks and 4 days! Baby is about 6 inches about the size of a mango! :)
Total weight gain/measurements: I started at 142, and as of my appointment on Monday (3/4/13) I have only gained 5 pounds!
Maternity clothes: Still haven't bought a thing! Phew!
Stretch marks: No way baby! Not yet! :)
Sleep: It's been good! Began tossing a lot more throughout the night, now that I'm back to sleeping on my sides again.
Best moment this week: Definitely the moment that we found out the sex of the baby!
Miss anything? Sleeping on my back
Movement: So just the other night (3/6/13) I had eaten my dinner, and leaned back on my husband, about 30 minutes later he was tapping and rubbing my belly and then he stopped. All the sudden I felt a very distinct kick! I was so happy, and we tried to get our baby to do it again, but it didn't happen. I know the movement will come in stronger soon, but it was amazing to feel my little one kick back! :)
Food cravings: These awesome red velvet cookies Carlos got from work... they were awesome, and so we found them at Safeway! Oh & Kraft Macaroni & Cheese! Thankfully I ate them the other night and it was amazing!
Anything making you queasy or sick? Thankfully... no!
Gender:  hmmmm... wait for it....
Labor signs: None.. :)
Symptoms: Just looking and feeling pregnant.. and loving it!
Belly button in or out? Still in!
Wedding rings on or off? On! :)
Happy or moody most of the time: Super excited! Can't help but to be happy and smiling all the time, I'm having a baby!!!!
Looking forward to: Feeling more baby movements, picking out a name for the baby, and picking out room colors! :)

So update on my 19 week sonogram:

So the OB came in and began the sonogram immediately. He showed us the babies heartbeat which was flickering (it was so amazing to see it flicker on the screen). We were able to hear the heartbeat (currently was at 141 on 3/4/13) and it was so impressive to hear. I felt like it was my first sonogram all over again! We got to see the 4 chambers of the heart, the detailed spine, the toes, arms, legs, the fingers, the brain and all the activity going on in there. Finally when he got to the little rump, he said "Do you see that?" We said "Yes, what is it?" He said, "That's their butt. Do you want to know what you're having?" Of course we said "YES!" so he said.. well you're having a little GIRL!" Of course then my tears began to run down my cheek, as if I wasn't already tearing up the whole time already! It was amazing to hear that Carlos & I are having a daughter!!! A little girl which we can dress up in little outfits of dresses, bows, etc.! Wow now the fun can really begin! We're so excited to get to begin the process of preparing for this precious daughter of ours. I have to admit it's been amazing getting to see my husband super happy as he tells me sometimes now "make sure you take care of my daughter" it just makes us smile knowing that we're having a babygirl together. WOW! I can now be a mom to my little girl! Reality is finally setting in.

It was awesome that last night we were able to celebrate my birthday with my family and were able to reveal the sex of our baby to them last night! They were definitely excited as they found out about the newest granddaughter, niece, etc. that would be joining the family! :)
